We invite you to join us and showcase your talent with Market customers on 2nd Saturdays. This is a great opportunity to connect with thousands of people and support Wichita’s local, innovative community hub at Old Town Farm & Art Market.

As a lover of cooking, you understand that it’s not just about food; it’s about family, community, and identity. It’s also about health. Healthy cooking might be the most important factor in fixing our public health crisis. Prioritizing locally produced fresh ingredients enables you to create delicious, real food, while directly supporting health and local food producers.

 Benefits

The Market will provide:

  • Up to $50.00 for the purchase of Market ingredients

  • One 10’ x 10’ canopy

  • Three 6 ft. tables

  • A handwashing station

  • A three burner propane cooker

  • A propane grill

  • 4 oz. sampling cups

You will receive:

  • A minimum of one social media post, which if applicable, will tag your social channel or link to your website.

  • An inclusion in the Market’s Facebook and Instagram event information posts for that Market day.

  • An opportunity to share your menus, flyers, brochures, recipes, etc. with Market customers.

  • An opportunity to hang promotional signage/banner the day of demonstration.

 Times

  • 9:00: Arrive and check in at the Information Booth located on the North side of Farm & Art Plaza along 1st Street.

  • 9:30 - 10:00: Shop the Market for ingredients if applicable. The Market will provide up to $50.00 to purchase ingredients from Market vendor companies.

  • 10:00 - 11:00: Prepare for demonstration.

  • 11:00 - 12:00: Demonstration.

  • 12:00 - 1:00: Break down, clean up, and hang out with Market customers and friends.

Requirements

  • Use as many in season ingredients from the Market as possible.

  • Other ingredients should be minimally processed.

  • Recipe idea(s) should be emailed to the Market at info@oldtownfarmandartmarket.com no later than the Monday before your demonstration for approval and marketing content.

  • Recipes should be easy to prepare, affordable, healthy and, of course, taste great!

  • Demonstration should be fun and engaging. Include practical tips when possible.

  • Offer approximately 30 samples/tastings, approx. 2 Tbs or 1/4 cup each.

Conduct and Appearance

Customer interactions and relationships are of vital importance to ensuring that the organization’s goals and objectives are met and are equally important to the overall Market’s success. Conduct by any Market participants that is detrimental to the reputation or operation of the Market is not permitted. Any difficulty experienced with customers or other vendors should be promptly reported to Market Management.

  1. Participants will in no way cause detriment to other vendors and are expected to conduct themselves professionally at all times, behaving courteously toward Market staff, customers, vendors, and volunteers. Participating organizations are responsible for the actions of their representatives, employees, or agents.

  2. Participants are not permitted to disparage Market vendors, products or organizations. Any activity considered to be damaging to the Market’s friendly and inclusive atmosphere (as determined by the Market Management) can result in that person or persons immediate elimination from the Market.

  3. Unless pre-approved, participants are not permitted to play radios or use other sound-generating electronics during Market hours.

  4. Participants are not allowed to smoke within the Market area at any time.

  5. Tobacco products may not be sold, consumed or advertised at the Market.

  6. No politics or political campaigning is permitted. All signs, clothing, stickers, symbols, etc. that could be deemed to be political or advancing one’s ideology is prohibited. This zero-tolerance rule applies to vendors, products, and guest organizations. 

    • The flag of the United States of America is not political. It is the symbol of “We the People” and represents all Americans. 

    • The promotion of American liberty, independence, or freedom in general, are characteristics unique to the United States of America and are not viewed as political

    • Thin Blue Line and Thin Red Line pays homage to police and firefighters and are not considered political. 

    • Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard related items/symbols are also not considered political.  

  7. Participants believed to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and/or behaving in an unprofessional manner may have their permission to remain at the Market revoked.
